2007   M60-64
is starting out well. At the Univ of Washington Open indoor meet I set a new age group indoor world record of 3.96m (13'0"). The record has been accepted by WMA, and is pending USATF approval. At Hayward Classic I broke my outdoor record by jumping 4.00m (13'1.5").

1st 3.93m (12'10.75")

I had a favorable bounce with the crossbar on this make, but on my best effort at 4.00m (mov - wmv), unfortunately it was not so kind. The 3.93m jump should be a new meet record.

It was about 70 degrees with a little tailwind. I worked through all the poles I had, and wanted another about .5 flex stiffer. I attempted 4.00m but wasn't successful. In the video I bumped the bar with my elbow, but it stayed up for me.
May 13 Hayward Masters Classic
Eugene, Oregon (results)
1st 4.00m (13' 1.5")
mov - wmv
It was about 60 degrees with a nice tailwind. I started out rather poorly requiring 3 attempts at each of my first two heights (3.70 & 3.80). My right quad was acting up so I passed at 3.90. 4.00m was measured and I made it on my first jump for a new meet, American and world record. To minimize leg injury/soreness, I then dropped out of the competition.
